Husband and wife team Matt and Lyndell Topliss are the founders of Full Swan Educational Consultancy and Executive Coaching.
Matt Topliss is an international school leader and experienced educational consultant with a demonstrated history of sustained success in educational leadership over the past fifteen years. Matt has completed an MA in Education from the University of Bath in the UK and the National Professional Qualification for Headship. He is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, where he is currently completing the Chartered Teacher (Leadership) status accreditation.
Matt has led schools in several different contexts, including the UK, Bahrain, Egypt, and Morocco, and is now Principal at Kyoto International School in Japan. He was the BSME country representative for Egypt and is a Leadership Performance Coach and NPQ Assessor for Best Practice Network. Matt has contributed to many internationally focused articles in the educational press, has spoken at leading educational conferences, and is an International Subject Matter Expert for the SELIN Club organisation.
He has recently completed the Accredited Performance Coach course and is now using this regularly to support and develop colleagues within his school and across his leadership development work.
Alongside his school leadership roles, he has also held consultancy roles with the International Baccalaureate Organisation, which have seen him mentor 14 schools through the candidacy phase of the IB Middle Years Programme authorisation. He has significant experience with UK-style and IB programmes, particularly GCSE, A-Level, IB PYP, MYP, DP, and IB Career-related Programme.
Lyndell Topliss is a qualified SEND teacher with several years of experience in international schools in Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco and now Japan. A Level 7 qualification in academic psychometric testing and access arrangements assessment allows Lyndell to prioritise an inclusive practice and an individualised approach to teaching and learning. Lyndell holds qualifications in SEN school reviews and contributed to the National Education Framework for SEN in the UK. Lyndell has experience with students of all ages and offers certified training to Teaching Assistants in Early Years and whole school learning support staff.
Lyndell is a member of the British Psychological Society and the Japanese Personality Psychology Association.
In addition to her role as whole school wellbeing coordinator, Lyndell is an Early Years curriculum developer, TEFL teacher, MYP I&S teacher, and IB DP CAS facilitator.
